Picard: I sincerely hope that this is the last time that I find myself here.

Q: You just don't get it, do you, Jean-Luc? The trial never ends. We wanted to see if you had the ability to expand your mind and your horizons. And for one brief moment, you did.

P: When I realized the paradox. ["We think it started in the past, but it didn't. It started right here, in the future!"]

Q: Exactly. For that one fraction of a second, you were open to options you had never considered. That is the exploration that awaits you. Not mapping stars and studying nebulae, but charting the unknown possibilities of existence.

Q: You're not alone, you know. What you were, and what you are to become, will always be with you.

"So, five-card stud, nothing wild. And the sky's the limit."

Anij: More questions. Always the explorer. If you stay long enough, that'll change.

Cpt. Picard: Will it?

A: You stop reviewing what happened yesterday, stop planning for tomorrow. Let me ask you a question. Have you ever experienced a perfect moment in time?

P: A perfect moment?

A: When time seemed to stop, and you could almost live in that moment?

P: Seeing my home planet from space for the first time.

A: Yes, exactly. Nothing more complicated than perception. You explore the universe. We've discovered that a single moment in time can be a universe in itself, full of powerful forces. Most people aren't aware enough of the now to even notice.

P: I wish I could spare a few centuries to learn.

A: It took us centuries to learn that it doesn't have to take centuries to learn.
